The Delaware
Marathon Running Festival prides itself on the quality and variety of
its post-race refreshments and is sincerely grateful to the many vendors
and suppliers who donate to Delaware’s premier running event.
For 2012, our runners will enjoy another
outstanding post-race celebration, hosted by DJ Chuck Wortman of
Maximum Sound Entertainment, in our seated hospitality garden. The post
race meal will include Grotto Pizza, Bachetti Brothers
sandwiches, Pretzel Boys Soft Pretzels, Del Monte Fresh
Bananas, Herr’s Snacks, Pine Mountain Springs Water,
Canada Dry Soft Drinks and Vitamin Water, Hy-Point Dairy Farm
Ice Cream Sandwiches and cold fresh chocolate milk and/or juices, plus
Michelob Ultra beer.
The hospitality seating areas are open to the public, however, the runners
refreshment area inside the main tent will be reserved for the runners
only. You will need to show your runner number bib to gain entry. Please
note that the back of the pack runners will want refreshments too, so we
ask that you please be courteous and only go through the hospitality line
once.
For 2012, We have contracted with Johnnie’s Hot Dogs to sell to the
public. Enjoy their delicious hot dogs and be sure to visit their 3401
Concord Pike Wilmington, Delaware location. Please note that Michelob
Ultra will also be on sale to the public.
We also encourage you to enjoy the numerous restaurants that are located
on the Riverfront, including the various food vendors at the Riverfront
Market (Saturday only); Harry’s Seafood Grill at the Riverfront
Market; Joe’s Crab Shack, the Big Fish Grill, and the Iron
Hill Brewery on the River Walk, and Timothy’s Bar & Grill and
Molly’s Ice Cream Parlor at the Shipyard Shops on the River Walk.
Most of the restaurants open at 11:00 am or Noon and the Riverfront
Market is open early for breakfast on Saturday. When visiting the
restaurants on race-day, please be aware that there may still be runners
on the River Walk section of the course.
