Hospitality

The Delaware Marathon™ Running Festival prides itself on the quality and variety of its post-race refreshments and is sincerely grateful to the many vendors and suppliers who donate to Delaware’s premier running event.

All runners will enjoy an outstanding post-race celebration, hosted by DJ Chuck Wortman of Maximum Sound Entertainment, in our seated hospitality garden. The post race meal will include an All American BBQ from 2 Fat Guys Catering, Seasons Pizza, Pretzel Boys Soft Pretzels, Fresh Bananas from Shop Rite, Herr’s Snacks, Hy-Point Dairy Farms ice cream sandwiches and ice cold chocolate milk, Pine Mountain Springs Water, Canada Dry Soft Drinks and Glaceau Vitamin Water, Michelob Ultra beer from NKS Distributors, and Champagne for all the runners from the Frank’s Wine Marathon team.

The hospitality seating areas are open to the public, however, the runners food area inside the main tent is reserved for the runners only. You will need to show your runner number bib to gain entry to this area, which is graciously manned by the Daughters of the British Empire.  Please note that the back of the pack runners want refreshments too, so we ask that you please be courteous, and only go through the hospitality line once. The hospitality tents open at 8:30 and the food is for runners only!

We have contracted with 2 Fat Guys Catering to sell food and drink to the public.  We encourage you to visit their Greenville and Hockessin, Delaware restaurant locations and enjoy their delicious All American food.  And remember, “Never trust a skinny chef.”… or should we say “Never trust a skinny runner!!  Please note that Michelob Ultra will also be on sale to the public on race day in our beer garden.

Before the race, we will set up coffee service along with Black Lab Breads breads with cream cheese and peanut butter, along with bananas, water and Gatorade.  Maui Wowi smoothies will also be on sale to the public later in the morning.

We encourage you to enjoy the many restaurants that are located on the Wilmington Riverfront, including Harry’s Seafood Grill at the Riverfront Market; Big Fish GrillIron Hill Brewery, and Joe’s Crab Shack on the River Walk, Timothy’s Bar & Grill, Ubon Thai, and Molly’s Ice Cream Parlor at the Shipyard Shops on the River Walk.

Also, our friends at LOMA Coffee (2nd and Market) will be manning a water station on race day.  Please visit them and the other LOMA restaurants, which are but a short walk from Tubman Park.  Finally, don’t forget the various food vendors inside the Riverfront Market (closed Sundays) and the restaurant within the Riverfront Westin Hotel.

Most of the restaurants mentioned open at 11:00 am or Noon on Saturday and Sunday and the Riverfront Market is open early for breakfast on Saturday.  When visiting the restaurants on race-day, please be aware that there may still be runners on the River Walk section of the course.
